Airport Operations & Maintenance
The Okotoks Air Ranch Airport filed their Airport Operations Manual (AOM) revisions to Transport Canada on September 15, 2011. The submission was approved on November 7, 2011.
Airport Administration will be re-installing the beacon on the hangar as part of our Transport Canada requirements. Update: the beacon has been installed and was initialized on December 8, 2011.
On September 26, 2011, we held an Annual Airport Meeting which included discussions on tie downs and the winter maintenance program, insurance policies, interest in affordable T-hangars as well as an open forum. The meeting generated several ideas to assist with the ongoing operations of the airport. One avenue currently being pursued is the installation of a webcam which will address several issues. Airport Administration will continue to look into equipment acquisition to further assist in facility maintenance. The date of the next meeting is September 24, 2012.
Asphalt repairs to Taxiway Alpha were completed on October 26, 2011.
Building Maintenance
Building maintenance continued throughout the month of October to address water damage and we have now completed the repairs to the observation deck and the Skywings lounge area.
